Brave Soul Saves Frozen Wolf From Approaching Train Disaster

The house is a roaring inferno, and the man is on his knees, his world turning to ash in the bitter mountain cold.

A Desperate Plea From The Wild

The flames lick the sky, taking everything he owns, leaving him with nothing but the clothes on his back. Suddenly, a small, white blur crashes into his chest, breaking his paralyzing grief. It is a wolf pup, its eyes wide with a terror that has nothing to do with the fire behind them. She is pulling at his sleeve, her tiny paws digging frantically into the snow.

He wants to stay and mourn, but the pup’s cries are impossible to ignore. He grabs his axe and follows her into the woods. The pup leads him toward the iron veins of the mountain—the train tracks. Where is she taking him?

A Race Against The Iron Giant

They reach the clearing, and his blood runs cold at the sight before him. A massive white wolf lies helpless, its tongue frozen solid to the icy steel rail. The wolf growls in pain and fear, but its eyes plead for mercy. The ground begins to vibrate, a low hum that quickly turns into a deafening roar.

A train is coming, and it is coming fast. The man doesn’t hesitate, dropping to his knees beside the trapped animal. He knows he has only seconds before the tonnage of steel reaches them. Will he risk his life for a predator?

Seconds From Disaster

He grabs the wolf, his muscles straining as the locomotive’s horn blasts a final, ear-piercing warning. With a final, desperate heave, the wolf’s tongue breaks free from the ice just as the steel beast screams past. They tumble back into the snow, the wind from the passing cars whipping around them like a hurricane. He holds the trembling animal close, two survivors in a frozen world.

The train roars past, a blur of red and black. He feels the heat of the engine. One more second, and they would both be gone.

In the ashes of his life, he found a reason to keep breathing.
