The Confrontation at the Entrance
A man in a dark trench coat walks toward the glass doors of a VIP lounge. He grips a brown leather briefcase firmly in his left hand.
Before he can cross the threshold, a security guard in a crisp black suit steps directly into his path. The guard holds out a hand to halt the man’s movement.
The man keeps walking, his gaze fixed forward. The guard moves faster, closing the gap to bar the entrance entirely. He plants his feet wide on the marble floor.
The guard’s jaw tightens. He lifts his chin and points a finger at the man’s chest, demanding he stop immediately. The man continues his steady pace, ignoring the command.
The guard’s chest rises and falls quickly. He pulls a radio from his side and signals for support. His eyes dart toward the lobby, watching for his colleagues to arrive.
The Shift in Power
A uniformed officer walks toward the pair, his hand resting on the utility belt at his waist. He stops to observe the standoff between the man in the trench coat and the security guard.
The man remains standing in the lobby. He looks at the guard, his eyebrows lifting slightly as he waits for a response from the team.
The security guard speaks into the radio, his voice sharp and loud. He tells his team that the man refuses to leave. He paces a small circle, his movements stiff and controlled.
The radio crackles. A voice relays information to the guard about the man’s identity. The guard’s posture shifts instantly. He pulls his shoulders back and his eyes widen, reflecting the glass lobby walls.
He looks at the officer standing beside him. The air in the room remains still. He puts the radio back on his belt, his fingers fumbling slightly with the clip.
A Change of Direction
The guard turns toward the man in the trench coat. He lowers his head and speaks in a low, measured tone. He gestures toward the hallway leading to the executive offices.
The guard walks a few paces ahead, leading the man toward the private corridor. The officer follows closely behind, his eyes scanning the quiet hallway.
They reach a heavy wooden door. The guard opens it and bows his head as the man walks into the room. A large desk sits in the center of the office, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows.
The man walks to the desk and pulls out the chair. He sits down, sliding his leather briefcase onto the polished wood surface. He looks up at the guard and the officer standing in his doorway.
He speaks, his voice resonant in the quiet office. He identifies himself as the new CEO. The guard stands motionless, his hands clasped behind his back as he leans forward to listen.
The man signs a document on the desk. He looks at the men and suggests they exercise more caution when screening individuals at the entrance. He keeps his gaze level as he pulls the pen away from the paper.
The man bows his head toward the desk to continue his work. The guard stands still in the office, staring at the man as the light from the windows illuminates the room.
