A pregnant woman stands alone in a high-end lobby, looking nervous. A grizzled maintenance man in a grease-stained jumpsuit suddenly marches up to her, his face twisted in pure rage.

A massive chunk of the ceiling gives way, crashing to the floor with a deafening thud. Panic erupts in the lobby as people scatter, screaming as the elevator begins to plummet straight down the shaft.
The ultimate sacrifice — The elevator car slams into the basement, sparks flying and smoke billowing from the impact. Beneath the wreckage, the maintenance man is trapped in the dark shaft, his body strained to its absolute limit.
He isn’t trying to save himself. With every ounce of his remaining strength, he presses his wrench against the massive gears to stop the machinery from crushing the car further.
He is holding the weight of the world on his shoulders, his muscles trembling under the crushing pressure. Above him, a crowd watches in horror, paralyzed by the sight of him fighting against certain death.
The ordeal ends with the man being wheeled out on a stretcher, beaten and exhausted. He looks up to see the man in the suit now wearing his maintenance badge, while the pregnant woman watches him leave with tears in her eyes.
He doesn’t look for praise or thanks. The silent hero simply stands up from the stretcher, ignores the stares of those around him, and walks straight out the door into the light of the day, leaving everyone stunned in his wake.
