Hostess Throws Elderly Relatives Homemade Food In Trash At Outdoor Party

A Warm Arrival

An elderly man carried a heavy blue speckled roasting pan while his wife walked alongside him holding a wicker basket of warm rolls.

They walked down the driveway toward an elaborate outdoor dinner setup arranged on the lawn. The woman smiled at her husband, expressing how glad she was that they had made the journey.

He agreed, pointing out that everyone would likely enjoy the food they had brought along. She mentioned making the bread rolls fresh earlier that afternoon.

Unwelcome Guests

As the couple reached the side of the long wooden table, a young woman in a dark sleeveless dress stepped into their path.

She held out a hand to stop them from placing the roasting dish onto the tabletop. She declared that she did not want the dish placed anywhere near her meal.

The elderly man explained that they had prepared the meal for everyone present. His wife added that it was a family recipe handed down from his mother, made every autumn.

The hostess lifted the lid of the pan, inspected the contents briefly, and commented that it looked like food served in a nursing home. She stated it should have stayed where it came from.

Into the Trash

The hostess grabbed the handle of the roasting pan and lifted it off the table, turning away from the couple.

The grandmother reached out a hand, asking her not to take their food away. The hostess told them to stop following her, stating she had no intention of serving cheap food at her dinner.

She walked over to a black plastic trash bin sitting near the fence line. She lifted the heavy lid of the bin and set the entire dish inside the container.

The grandmother stood beside her, noting that they had spent the entire morning preparing the dish. The hostess replied that they had wasted their time before closing the trash bin.

A Unified Departure

Inside the house, a young man watched the interaction through a glass door. He announced to the room that he was leaving with his grandparents.

The hostess called out, telling him not to be ridiculous and to let the couple leave on their own. He turned and replied that if his grandparents were not welcome, he was not staying either.

He walked out to the street where the elderly man was placing the remaining basket into the trunk of his car. The grandmother looked up in surprise and asked if he was truly coming with them.

He confirmed he had come to share dinner with family. She smiled and told him to save room for a roll.

Across the yard, other guests began standing up from their seats and walking toward their vehicles. The hostess called out, asking if they were all leaving over hurt feelings.

The young man replied that they were leaving because of how she had treated her family. The remaining guests loaded into their cars and drove down the driveway.

The hostess stood by herself beside the long wooden table, holding a half-empty glass of wine as the tail lights disappeared into the evening shade.
