An Unwelcome Visitor
An elderly man in a tattered brown trench coat walked across the polished black tile of a high-end luxury car dealership.
He stopped just a few feet from a floor-to-ceiling glass enclosure housing a sleek silver supercar prototype.
A dealership manager wearing a tailored black suit and a red tie marched directly toward him.
“Sir, stop right there!” the manager shouted, cutting off the elderly man’s path.
The manager pointed aggressively toward the display area inside the glittering showroom.
“That car is not for customers like you,” he said, his posture rigid and hostile.
A Public Display
The elderly man paused, looking at the manager with an unbothered composure.
“I only asked to see it,” the elderly man explained in a low, measured tone.
“See it? You can’t even afford the tires!” the manager shouted back.
A nearby couple browsing the vehicle display turned to watch the heated exchange unfold.
The manager stepped closer, poking his index finger near the old man’s shoulder.
“You walked into a private showroom dressed like that and demanded access to a million-dollar prototype?” he scoffed.
Standing His Ground
The elderly man looked down at the frayed fabric of his coat sleeves before looking back up.
“I didn’t demand anything,” he replied, lifting his hands slightly.
“I designed it,” he stated plainly, keeping his voice perfectly balanced.
“Enough!” the manager yelled, turning toward the entrance doors.
“Security! Get this man out of my showroom right now!” he barked.
A uniformed security officer stepped in immediately and grabbed the elderly man’s coat sleeve to push him toward the exit.
Proving The Claim
The elderly man turned his body, addressing the manager one more time.
“I designed the original chassis,” he said clearly as the security officer pulled at his shoulder.
“I drew that car before your company even built this showroom,” he added.
The manager held up his hand to pause the guard, his eyebrows furrowed with doubt.
“If you designed it, then tell me what it’s called!” the manager demanded, stepping into his space.
The elderly man met his gaze without flinching or moving away.
“Project Veronas,” the old man answered firmly. “My original design.”
The Sudden Shift
The manager’s lips parted slightly as the name hit him.
His eyes opened wide, and his raised arm slowly sank down to his side.
“You just tried to throw out the man who designed the car you’re standing beside,” the elderly man said quietly.
The woman standing behind the manager gasped, her hand moving up to cover her mouth.
The security officer lowered his hands, releasing his grip on the worn trench coat and stepping back two paces.
The manager stood completely still on the polished floor, staring blankly at the man in the torn coat.
