The Sudden Chase
It started as a typical, gray afternoon in the city. A massive white tanker truck rolled slowly through an intersection, the driver looking focused on the road ahead. Out of nowhere, a white dog darted into the lane, barking frantically at the driver. The trucker, startled, looked over as the dog leapt against the cab, its behavior erratic and urgent. There was no ignoring the animal’s persistent warning.
The Ominous Warning
Realizing something was wrong, the man climbed out of the truck to inspect the undercarriage. His face turned pale as he saw black fluid pooling underneath, already igniting in a bright, dancing orange flame. Oh Lord, he muttered, the color draining from his face. Every second was precious now. He scrambled back into the driver’s seat, signaled for his loyal companion to follow, and gunned the engine. They needed to get this truck toward the highway, and they needed to do it quickly.
A Miraculous Escape
The tanker roared down the highway, but the fire was spreading rapidly. Flames licked up the sides of the massive tank, turning the sky dark with thick, heavy smoke. The driver didn’t hesitate; he brought the truck to a stop and shoved the door open, lunging out just as a massive explosion ripped through the air. He hit the pavement, pulling the dog close as the tanker erupted into a fireball behind them. In the quiet after the blast, on the edge of the smoking highway, man and beast clung to each other, alive against all odds.
