Rumors about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tying the knot continue to gain momentum, though little has been officially confirmed. Reports suggest the couple have been deliberate about keeping fans and paparazzi in the dark, with Swift said to be keeping details tightly under wraps to prevent any leaks before the big day.
Now, a source claiming to be among the invited guests has revealed a detail about the invitations that has reportedly not gone down well with everyone on the list. According to the source, most celebrities who received an invitation are not being given the option of bringing a plus-one, a decision that has raised eyebrows and renewed a long-running debate about wedding etiquette.
“I know Selena Gomez is bringing her husband Benny Blanco, so she has a plus-one, but I am not allowed to have a plus-one because I am a single woman,” the guest told the Daily Mail. The source added: “I get it, the venue can probably allow for only so many people, but it’s not the best feeling.”
The guest admitted the situation was serious enough that she was weighing whether to attend at all. “It’s the wedding of the year, but I may sit this one out because I am shy,” she said.
Despite her frustration, the source stressed that she loves Swift and wants the best for her, but did not want to come across as a “major complainer.” Beyond the plus-one issue, the event is being shrouded in secrecy.
Only select guests can bring plus-one
Guests will reportedly only be told the venue on the morning of the ceremony. “I get that too, she doesn’t want everyone knowing where she is getting married until the last minute for security reasons,” the source said.
As for speculation about the location, the guest suggested it could be a large, high-security property. “Now it is one big guessing game, everyone is wondering where it will be.
Probably a massive hotel like the Waldorf Astoria that has amazing security and access.” Swift and Kelce announced their engagement last year.
The pair began dating in August 2023 when Kelce attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in Kansas City.
