Sounding the Alarm
The nurse gasped, stepping forward to follow the dog as he released her shirt and trotted back to the room.
She entered the room to find the patient shivering violently with her head turned to the side.
The nurse reached past the bed rail and pressed her palm against the large red emergency button on the wall plate.
Within seconds, a doctor in a white coat and three more nurses rushed through the doorway.
They moved quickly around the bed, checking the patient’s pupils and adjusting the oxygen flow.
The golden retriever retreated to the far corner of the room, sitting quietly as the medical team worked.
The doctor leaned down, listening to her chest with a stethoscope while another nurse adjusted the IV line.
The Road to Recovery
After several minutes of adjustments, the patient’s shivering subsided, and her breathing returned to a regular pace.
