An Unexpected Warning
The delivery driver gripped the cardboard box tightly as he reached the metal front gate.
His eyes locked onto a bright white sign with bold red lettering that read, “Beware of the Lion.”
He paused, took a deep breath, and cautiously stepped onto the property.
The Threat in the Shadows
He walked briskly down the concrete path, constantly scanning the yard to his left and right.
He bent his knees and carefully placed the package down on the front porch steps, keeping his body tense and ready to move.
As he turned to leave, a massive silhouette resembling a male lion with a giant mane appeared on the sunlit stucco wall.
His jaw dropped, his eyes widened, and he took a sharp step backward.
A Frantic Escape
He bolted down the walkway toward the exit as fast as his legs could carry him.
He launched his body forward, vaulting completely over the metal gate to reach the safety of the sidewalk.
A tiny, golden Pomeranian rounded the corner of the house, its fluffy coat catching the light as it trotted slowly down the path.
