A Tearful Discovery
A man walked through a park when he noticed a young boy sitting alone on a bench, wiping tears from his eyes. Kneeling down beside the bench, the man asked why he was crying. The boy looked up, explaining through sobs that he had lost his shoes and feared his mother would be upset.
Searching the Park
The man stood up and glanced around the surrounding grass. A few feet away under another park bench, he spotted a pair of blue sneakers lying on the ground. He walked over, picked them up, and wiped the dirt off before returning to the child.
An Unexpected Offer
Handing the sneakers over, the man smiled as the boy happily slipped them on. The child asked how he could repay him, but the man simply told him to take care of his shoes before watching him run off toward his mother. The following day, the man walked into a neighborhood store holding a job application, where the woman behind the counter recognized him immediately as the stranger who had helped her son.
